# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The way fresh mint transforms hot water into something that feels like an embrace
  • Honey and lemon balance the herbal notes perfectly without masking the mint
  • Ready in fifteen minutes but tastes like something that took all afternoon
02 -
  • Dried mint will give you a completely different drink, more earthy and less bright, so stick to fresh for this recipe
  • Over-steeping makes mint tea bitter rather than stronger, so respect that five to seven minute window
  • Honey should be added after the tea has cooled slightly to preserve its beneficial enzymes
03 -
  • Buy mint plants and keep them on your windowsill so you always have fresh leaves available
  • The bruising step is what separates restaurant quality tea from home attempts
  • Use honey from local sources for added allergy benefits and regional flavor notes
