Homemade Fruit Roll Ups (Print Version)

Sweet, chewy fruit leather made with real fruit. Perfect healthy snack for kids and adults.

# What You Need:

→ Fruit Base

01 - 3 cups fresh or frozen fruit (strawberries, mango, raspberries, blueberries, peaches, or a mix)
02 - 2-3 tablespoons honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
03 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice

# How To Make:

01 - Preheat your oven to 170°F or set a dehydrator to 135°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
02 - In a blender or food processor, combine the fruit, sweetener, and lemon juice. Blend until completely smooth.
03 - Pour the fruit puree onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread it into an even layer about 1/8-inch thick.
04 - Place the baking sheet in the oven or dehydrator. Dry for 4-6 hours, or until the puree is no longer sticky to the touch and peels away easily from the liner.
05 - Remove from the oven and let cool completely. Peel the fruit leather off the liner and transfer to a cutting board.
06 - Cut into strips using a sharp knife or scissors. Roll each strip in parchment paper to prevent sticking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • They taste like pure concentrated fruit, not chemicals and artificial dyes
  • You can customize the flavors based on what is in season or what you have on hand
  • My kids actually get excited to help make them, turning snack time into a fun activity
02 -
  • The thickness really matters, too thick and it will never dry properly, too thin and it becomes brittle and hard to roll
  • Every oven is different, so start checking at 4 hours and trust your touch more than the timer
  • Humidity affects drying time dramatically, rainy days might require extra hours in the oven
03 -
  • Applesauce mixed with softer fruits like peaches helps them set better without affecting the flavor
  • A dehydrator is more energy efficient than an oven if you plan to make these regularly
